One of the top goals on my bucket list is to live in France. Say, an apartment in Paris, perhaps in the 12th arrondissement where I will author a book of such wide appeal that the whole word will love me...okay, well, to live in Paris, at least ;)I have a very special penchant for Chateau de Vaux le Vicomte, just forty-five minutes outside of Paris in the town of Maincy. It's an architecturally stunning baroque chateau that was built in the 1650's for Nicolas Fouquet, finance superintendent to Louis XIV.
On a property of 5 acres, symmetrical Vaux le Vicomte spans 41,000 square feet while showcasing lavishly decorated bedrooms and private apartments, a gorgeous double-height Grand Salon, a carriage house (complete with period carriages), moat and exquisitely manicured gardens noteworthy of inspiring that novel ;)
On November 10 and 11th, Vaux le Vicomte will host their magical annual party, Le Palais du Chocolat Salon. Can you imagine?! This grand palais will play host to some of France's best chocolatiers - there will be tasting, recipes, a children's workshop and more! Oh, the macarons!
