Identifying both superstar beaches and repeat offenders, the report is compiled from a sampling of water from over 3,000 beaches across the nation. Unfortunately, last year resulted in the second highest contaminations in the history of the NRDC report with samples containing oil, animal waste and human waste, how disgusting and disheartening :(
According to the NRDC, clean beach water naturally supports public health as well as the economies of coastal communities that rely on tourism to support local jobs and generate income. It's important that we all do our part to keep our beaches clean!
